Run4Kids Superhero 5K - 07/13/2018

Be an incredible champion during the Run4Kids Superhero 5K run 8 p.m. July 13 on a course at Stark State College and Kent State University Stark.

A race in the Ohio Challenge Series, the family-oriented Superhero 5K is jointly sponsored by Tiqvah Hands of Hope and Belden Village Kiwanis to raise funds to serve youths in need.

Runners are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero costume. Superhero capes can be ordered at preregistration, child size only $10, or purchase race day.

Race day check-in opens at Stark State Business and Entrepreneurial Building on 6200 Frank Ave. NW, North Canton, at 6 p.m. A free kid’s run kicks off at 7:15 followed by the main 5K race at 8.

Richard Jones was inducted into the Belden Village Kiwanis Club during the annual holiday event Jan. 11 at Mulligan’s Restaurant. Nominated by Jordan Maddocks, Jones was inducted by Pastor Diana Thompson.

Belden Village Kiwanis Club Thursday (October 26) installed 2017/2018 officers and directors during the annual President’s Luncheon at the Fairways at Arrowhead, North Canton.

Monica Santucci was installed as president during ceremonies conducted by Wanda Young, Lt. Governor Ohio District 17.

Assuming posts for the next year were Rev. Diana Thomas, president elect; Nancy Wise-Miller, secretary; Jeff Sutton, treasurer, and Ralph Norton, immediate past president.

Installed as directors were Dick Lab, Bill Johnson, Bill Steinmetz, Tom Stahlheber and Jim McVay.

Pioneers, Cavaliers and Kiwanians keyed blitz against hunger - 11/11/2017

The Walsh Cavaliers topped Malone Pioneers 38 to 24 Saturday in a gridiron rivalry that included an all-out blitz on hunger in Stark County.

The eighth annual Tailgate Against Hunger coordinated by the Belden Village Kiwanis Club and Malone and Walsh universities business clubs raised the equivalent of more than 12,000 pounds of food for the hungry.

Preceding the game in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, fans are asked to bring a monetary or non-perishable food donation to join the blitz– all donations went to Stark County Hunger Task Force.

Race benefits distributed - 07/09/2017

The impact from the hard work of Belden Village Kiwanis members to produce a successful Miles for Kids Run/Walk was on display at the July 6 meeting at the Hyatt Place.

The funds raised with send kids to camp help with christian sports programs, assist youthful patients at Akron Children's Hospital and support familes of patients.

Werstler leads runners in Miles for Kids 5K - 05/13/2017

Zack Werstler scorched the course in 17.05 to take first in the May 13 Miles for Kids 5K over some 80 runners.

Staged by Belden Village Kiwanis Club at Stark State College, the popular event benefits Pathway Caring for Children of Canton and Association of Church Sports Recreation Ministries of Canton.

Kiwanians police Sippo Lake Park April 15 - 04/15/2017

Work crews led by Belden Village Kiwanis Club members supported by Key Clubbers from Jackson and GlenOak high schools and members of the Aktion Club swept through park land. lake house and trails picking up the winter’s trash.

Following the clean up, workers enjoyed lunch and a Starks Parks slide show and presentation.

Don and Dorothy Murray honored - 03/30/2017

Establishment of a newly endowed scholarship fund in the names of Don and Dorothy Murray highlighted ceremonies honoring the couple March 30 at the Malone University Johnson Center.

Spearheaded by the Belden Village Kiwanis Club, the scholarship for music students and the event recognized the Murrays for lifelong dedication to community service through Kiwanis and education through the university.
